Here’s a nice size concrete job we did in Anderson, South Carolina, which is just southwest of Greenville. It highlights our attention to detail that we place on our resurfacing jobs. As you can see from our sketch the customer approved, we began to draw a design that opened up the space outside within the enclosure and along the side of the house to create an oasis.
In order to do this we created a leveled design that would require forming two levels of retaining walls made out of concrete. We also wanted to connect the walkway along the side of the house with the back enclosure to have a continuous design for people to feel as they entered. We used a slate design in order to create the retaining walls.
Along with this we built a wall fence with decorative concrete wall pillars. As you can see Jose in the picture hand chiseled the blocks on the pillars symmetrically as if there were actual blocks used to make the pillar. “Attention to detail” is a phrase we take very seriously at Unique Concrete Design LLP. With the walkway and the slate pattern overlay around the pool deck we used gray and tan colors along the wall also to tie everything in. The texture along this surface was semi ruff in order to prevent major slips when people walk around this swimming pool, but to also add dimension for the color.
We poured a good amount of flat concrete and then went back over much of it to add the texture and overlay patterns that we are known for instead of doing stamped concrete which many other companies choose to
do. We also included a coat of sealer in order to hold in the color and texture of the concrete.
Here is one of our past jobs that we are very proud of. On occasions when a customer has an idea to create something we must go to the drawing board in order to take their idea and create a design that is not just nice, but also feasible. Here you can see a sketch of the design that was exactly what the customer was looking for.
In this particular design we poured the concrete into oval shapes and added a step down area for a fire pit. Many times we deal with customers that have an existing concrete, where we simply prep that concrete and pour our special material on top in order to do a design, but here we had to start from scratch. Pouring this concrete was an easy task, but design for framing this concrete was done by scratch. Jose, the owner of the company, and his men made it happen with little complications.
After pouring the concrete design we begin to use an acrylic concrete material that goes on top of the concrete adding more than 3x the amount of strength in the concrete. We then begin to add the stone like designs by hand and shape the unique designs of the fire pit and grill locations according to the customers choice.
Afterwards we create a color sample for the customer to see in order to get the exact color match unique to their liking. From this color sample we color the entire patio and all the stones with the match. We then finish off the job with a nice sealer to protect it from wear and tear.
